Our Founder:
Munif Ali
Munif Ali, the visionary behind The MPOWR Foundation, grew up in the Hunters Point housing projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. After his father left, Munif’s family went from middle-income to no income, thrusting them into a world where financial stability was a distant dream. Watching his mother, an illiterate single parent, work tirelessly to provide for her children, Munif learned the importance of financial independence early on.
Journey to Empowerment
Despite the challenges, Munif’s mother instilled in him the value of hard work, saving, and perseverance. Spending countless hours at the local library, Munif was self-educated, discovering the power of financial literacy and entrepreneurship. This journey led him to invest in an IRA at 14 and eventually become a successful entrepreneur, founding multiple companies, including Pacific Playa Realty and New Era Escrow. His personal experiences drive the foundation’s mission to empower others through financial education and entrepreneurship.
